Snow?
Normally I'm excited when it snows, because in BC we only get a day or two of snow a year. But now that I'm living in Ontario, I'm not so excited about the snow. Especially since it's already started, and this Friday's low is supposed to be -13C (7F)! I've never experienced that in Canada, except when skiing at Whistler. My roommate commented this morning about how sad it is that I've never lived a real Canadian winter.
Well, I think my "first real Canadian winter" is starting with trudging to uni this morning in the snow.

Most ppl in the eastern provinces think of BC as "lotus land". Now you will be able to experience a different type of winter!!

Ha ha ha. Snow? Ottawa? Try "ice storm" for a phrase! A co-worker used to live there and his advice was if you are ever in Ottawa in the winter leave the heat and fan cranked to maximum after you stop your car outside.

Why? If an ice storm hits you can use your remote car starter to thaw the ice around the doors so you can get in the car!!!

He wasn't joking!

Ya, and everyone keeps saying "this is cold?! You haven't experienced anything yet! Just wait for January/February."
I'm going to buy some much needed boots today, and I need to get a mini heater for my room.

Nov 26 6 pm It is snowing in Abbotsford and sticking for the first time this year! I know it pales in comparison to the rest of Canada, but the crocuses will be up in BC next week...

Oh God! I love Winter, except driving on the icy road. Enjoy your real winter! :)

Today is a HIGH of -13C, and we're still 3 weeks away from the official start of winter.
